Babar Azam Can Break Several Records in Upcoming Pakistan vs New Zealand T20 And ODI Series

Babar Azam, Pakistan’s captain across all formats, is on fire with the bat and poised to break multiple records.

Records currently held by some great legends of the Cricketing world like Hashim Amla, Virat Kohli, and Sir Vivian Richards.

Babar sees the upcoming New Zealand series, which includes five T20Is and five ODIs, as the ideal opportunity to achieve his goals. Below are some milestones Babar Can Achieve in this series to write his name in history books.

Pakistan’s Captain needs just one T20I series win against New Zealand to become the most successful T20I captain of all time, surpassing retired Eoin Morgan’s record of 42 wins as captain. He is currently tied for 40 victories with Aaron Finch of Australia.

In one-day internationals, the 28-year-old is closing in on several records held by South African legend Hashim Amla. He only needs one more century in the next seven innings to become the fastest batter in ODI history to reach 18 ODI centuries. Amla currently holds the record achieved in 102 innings, followed by Virat Kohli who reached the same milestone in 119 innings.

Babar will also attempt to become the first Pakistan batsman to reach 3,500 runs in T20I cricket. He only needs 145 runs to accomplish this feat.

Furthermore, if Babar scores 187 runs in the next seven innings, he will become the fastest batter in ODI history to reach 5,000 runs, breaking Amla’s record who took 101 innings to reach 5000 Runs. Both Kohli and West Indian legend Sir Vivian Richards took 114 innings to score the same number of runs.

Finally, the right-hand batsman is just 136 runs away from reaching 12,000 runs in international cricket, having scored 3,696 Test runs, 4,813 ODI runs, and 3,355 T20I runs.
